Diaspora is a collaboration between the Ifá Yorùbá Contemporary Arts Trust and Salamanda Tandem and reflects their shared interests in creating work that crosses boundaries by drawing on the worlds of improvised dance and music.

The work brings together dancers, musicians, poets and storytellers to make art works.

The work has an important cultural dimension that creates a framework for exciting discoveries and artistic exchange.

Diaspora brings a dynamic response to the separation that dancers and musicians have become familiar with in Britain. When dance and music are made together in the same space an explosion of new discoveries and dialogue can take place. Together in this way people have new rights of access to the creative process.

Performances: improvisation based performances, multi media installations, recordings and exhibitions.

Laboratories and Research: an artists meeting ground to devise new work and push the boundaries of performance, interaction and improvisation, allowing time for reflection personal development to take the work to new areas.

Artists Training: placements and training events for artists interested in working with people with disabilities.
